Havana Moon is the pseudonym of a very well known figure in
Shortwave Radio, on both the hobby and the professional levels.
He is a former Intelligence Officer who is acknowledged to be
one of the leading experts in the curious shortwave phenomenon
known as "Spy Numbers Transmissions."
He has written two popular books, "Uno, Dos, Cuatro - A Guide
To The Numbers Stations" and "Los Numeros: The Numbers Sta-
tions Guide" both published by Tiare Publications of Lake
Geneva, WI. "Uno, Dos, Cuatro" has been reviewed numerous times
in such publications as 73 Amateur Radio Magazine, Cryptologia,
Fact Sheet Five, The Fessenden Review and the National Intelli-
gence Book Study Center.
He has authored hundreds of articles which have appeared over
the years in the major radio monitoring and related publica-
tions, including Monitoring Times and Popular Communications.
He is currently a contributing editor to a number of well-known
publications, including Popular Communications, The A*C*E
Bulletin, The Intelligence Newsletter and Umbra et Lux. He
is presently Clandestine Consultant to Popular Communications
and has contributed recently to Grove Enterprises' "Shortwave
Directory."
Havana Moon was featured in Sharon Churcher's "USA Confidential"
column in the December, 1988 edition of Penthouse Magazine. He
has done numerous radio talk-shows, most recently the Pat Murphy
