[alt.bbs] Nova Link BBS

ar4@mentor.cc.purdue.edu (Piper Keairnes) (11/10/89)

[ I am not looking for any arguments as to which BBS software is the best ]

What I do want is the latest WORKING phone number for any BBS that has
NovaLink software available for downloading. I just tried calling the
support board from an old manual that I had printed out and the number
was not available. Is there a new number for the support board?

ftp addresses would be even better!

OR, if anyone out there in net.land has a recent version of the shareware
version... I'd be greatful if you could mail me and we'll talk. I'm looking
into starting up a BBS by the summer months.

   Thanks in advance...

For anyone interested in Macintosh BBS programs:

The temporary tech sup Novalink Pro BBS is in Lousiana: (318) 239-4536 or
(318) 238-0251. It is a two-line board running on a Mac SE.
Any Mac user can download a demo of Novaterm, the graphics term program
that will let you see the board's map of Lousiana (drawn in
excruciating detail) and an animated sequence of a tank destroying
an IBM logo (this may have to go) and lots of icons that you can point
and click on to move around the board.

The support board will be moved to Boston when the phone strike here ends.

Novalink Pro is still in beta, but we are hoping for a December
release.

Please let me know if anyone has any questions.

Another BBS to try for MACintosh BBS software is MacProgrammers West in
Portland, Oregon. The number is 503-222-4258. The sysop has an HST and a
PEP, but the HST should be the one online the majority of the time.
The BBS is a WWIV/MAC, but he does have NovaLink, HyperBBS, and several
other MAC BBS programs.. I even remember the C code for Citadel on
there..

NOTE: the BBS is the national WWIV/MAC support BBS.
