Flames for Birthdates. It has been brought to my attention that there still seems to be some confusion as to whether asking for birthdates on bbs registrations is a real "reasonable" thing to do. I figured since we were in a Flamewar, I might as well cover all the "Flame" rules here. First, I must associate someone with Hitler. Any takers? Ok, THEN, we call something racism. That's been done. So far so good. Then, as I recall, we move it into Email and have an all out-adolescent "Meet you in the Tanbark Area after school!". I think that's it. I, personally, think it's reasonable to give your FULL REAL NAME, your GENDER, your LICENSE PLATE NUMBER, your SOCIAL SECURITY, your DRIVER'S LICENSE, your MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME, your FATHER'S SHOE SIZE, if you have any SISTERS [and accompanying birthdates] as well as your birthdate, your sign, the planet you were born under, etc. That way, if there is any confusion, after we call you, we can require a signed affidavit of your age, as well as a certified legal copy of your birth certificate, and three signed legal witnesses. Come on, that's not very hard, is it? I mean, people thing it would be a little INCONVENIENT, but think of the SAFETY! (You know, got to protect against Viruses! What if you had a virus and we allowed you on our over-18 ALL SEEEXXX D00D board?!?!) At least we don't require you to fill out the registration IN PERSON! ...hey! wait a second!... ...Alex alex@darkside.com
