Having ventured far enought to get the amulet, but not far enough to be a TOTAL WINNER, I have a few questions. I had dropped a few uneccesary, yet nice items near the stairs on the way down. Wands of Magic Missle, duplicate rings, and otherwise worthless stuff for the quest of the amulet, yet possible point-getters if I did make it back up. I was surprised that on the way up all the rooms appeared "re-randomized". Does that also mean that the magic, gold, monsters, etc. will also be "new"? Another disheartening thing happened on the way up. I had a ring of stealth (and slow dig.) on, yet going up NOTHING appeared to be asleep. Did I just run into lots of alert monsters, or is that just the way it is? Needless to say, magic ran out after a couple of floors full of hungry P`s and X`s.
