I am curious as to how one finds out a wizard's password. Is that part of the game, to find out a password or is it something special for the authors. Is the password found on a scroll or something. In response to the question on what the wizard's passwd is for and how to find it: 1) it is intended for the author or for the administrator of the game on a particular system. 2) if you do happen to make yourself a wizard (by having the password) at any time during a game (even if you save it and start again) your score is not considered valid for the score file. 3) the password is not found on any scrolls or by returning to the surface with the amulet. it is only available from the person who placed it in the game in the first place (hence item 1). In summary don't waste your time trying to guess it, it is only frustrating and if you have it and use it alot it has the tendancy to make the game somewhat boring.

I didn't think I'd want it at the time, but has anybody got a copy of the "cheater guide to rogue"? (I've forgotten what it was really called -- the thing on decrypting the save file.) I'd like to see exactly want it proposed - not so much for beating rogue (which I still want to do the hard way in 5.2), but in order to get a feeling for the techniques used for a data encryption system I am building.
