I had bumped into the same core dumping problem in 3.6. It was a deliberate "bug" with greedy monster types in the LOWER levels (>20 as I remember). The fix was trivial once found. It seems the author really wanted it to be hard to win. Needless to say, I find this VERY annoying. Mike Laman sdcsvax!laman
