Can anybody confirm the following theory?
While sitting on a monster, that monster can hit you, but he also acts like
a scare monster scroll in that other monsters can't hit you.
How do you sit on a monster, you may ask? Well, you teleport him away and
he lands on your square (under you?).
Here's the experience:
1) .U. I am confused so I zap the U with teleport away.

2) .X. The U goes away, but the X moves in from above.
.@. Having only 37 hp, I zap the X (upward anyway) with polymorph.

3) .X. The message I get is that the kobold misses me,
.@. but an X is showing, not a K.

At this point I get brave and rest (I'm still confused).
The kobold misses me again, and the X flutters around me (to my left,
right, and above). This continues until I am unconfused.
Then I proceed to wail on the X, while a kobold keeps missing me.
It takes quite a few hits to kill the X, indicative that it is not
a kobold with a mistaken identity. (Oh yes, I tried replotting a few times)
After wasting the X, I move into the doorway and the K appears.

The K goes with one swing and I survive!
The only thing I could figure (after the fact) was that I teleported the
U to my square and then polymorphed him into a K without realizing it.
The K couldn't hit me because of my good armor &/! luck and the X couldn't
hit me because I was squatting on a monster?
