We have been running PC-NFS for years and a new problem has just popped up. I'm using PC-MATLAB's gpp program which converts a "meta" file to postscript and sends it to the device listed in the printer designation switch. In this case, lpt2: is the designated device and is an Apple LaserWriter Plus. Up until this last week, everything spooled just fine. Now, I am occasionally getting a two part postscript file. The header part which contains important information so that lpr knows not to send the file through enscript (a %!) and the rest of the file. I sent ten jobs one right after the other (just hit the F3 key 9 times, so all were identical jobs). Of these, about two thirds appeared in the spool directory intact. The others were broken into two parts in no consistant manner. Sometimes just the first line would be in the first file, sometimes up to 3 lines would be in it, with all the balance of the bytes going into the second spool file. Does anyone have any idea where I should start looking for a solution to this problem? Is it some type of timing problem? PC-NFS problem? Who determines when to close a spool file and open another (pc-nfs??)? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. --Heather Ebey -----------hebey@ucsd (Internet, Bitnet, UUCP )------------- Heather Ebey, Micro Support Voice: (619) 534-2448 UCSD, Academic Computing Center, C-010, La Jolla, CA. 92093 ----Any views expressed by me in this message are my own----
