Just read the summary posting by ???? re TWG , NRC , DEC servers for NFS .. I am looking for a little more ( should add TGV has a NFS server for VMS on top of Multinet ). Are all the servers of NFS designed to serve PCs as well as BIG NFS Clients .. Unix hosts, etc. ?? Is a separate family of protocols used to serve PC NFS apart from NFS ? Can some one run down for me the options for PC integrated software to run on vanilla ethercards ( or DEC DEPCAs, know of FTP, Inc ) which have the following COMBINED features ( piece at a time breaks the bank ): (1) NFS File Client, (2) TELNET, with VT100/200 key- board emulation .. (3) FTP, (4) lpd, (5) R-services, (6) DNS Client, (7) Ping ... in that order of im- portance ? I have had people tell me that it is all do-able for under $500 to $700 per PC with cards or maybe without .. is that realistic ? Thank you in advance .. I will be happy to summ back to the newsgroup. /Ev/ -- The_Main_User (So Calif SunLUG | Vta-SB-SLO-DECUS) efb@elroy.JPL.Nasa.Gov efb@suned1.UUCP efbatey@Vaxb.Navy.MIL Statements, Opinions ...
