[comp.protocols.nfs] NFS over 64Kbit lines

x_hausken_p@inger.uio.no (Peter Hausken) (10/04/89)

We are using PC-NFS from Sun as our PC-network. On compus it's based on
Ethernet and to remote sites we use 64Kbits lines with TransLAN bridges
from Vitalink.

When we try to copy files from a PC to a server over a 64Kbits line, files
greater than 7K are rejected. From the server to the PC it works fine no
mather how large the file is.

We have tried the same UNIX to UNIX and when we specify wsize=512 or wsize=1024
the transfer succeeds. Using a regular mount causes filesystem lock. One server
is a Sun 3/50 running Sun OS 3.5 and the other a Sun 3/60 running Sun-OS 4.0.3

Does anyone know default wsize for PC-NFS and NFS in Sun OS
