We have a Pyramid 9815 (OSx4.4) and a DECstation 3100 (Ultrix 3.1) nfs'd together, so there can be users logged on to one, whose home directory is on the other. Our ethernet load is fairly high at 8-10%. Users get pretty regular occurences of "server not responding". Perhaps this cannot be completely done away with, but I'd like to be able to "tune" the mount parameters a bit to cut down the frequency as much as possible. Hopefully, some combination of retry, retrans and timeo, etc. will make some difference. Before I get into it, I'd like to know if anyone has a similar setup, and what has worked for you. Thanx for any info. -- Ken Spagnolo - Systems Programmer, Postmaster, Usenet Administrator, etc. Computer Centre, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand K.Spagnolo@massey.ac.nz Phone: +64-63-69099 x8587 New Zealand = GMT+12
