[comp.protocols.nfs] Suggestions on testing NFS link reliability ...

bruce@zeb.USWest.COM (Bruce W. Hoylman) (01/10/90)

I would like suggestions for verifying an NFS link between a
Sun 4/280 runnning SunOS Release 4.0.3c and a Stratus System/32
running VOS 9.0a. NFS Release 1.0 is installed on the Stratus
system. I am not sure of the NFS release running on the Sun
system.

I am able to mount the Stratus file system on the Sun and access
this system. All exporting of file systems, etc. have been done
and seem to be correct. I already know there are some problems
with file security and uid translations between the two NFS systems.

My primary concern at this point is to be able to confidently
copy files to/from the Stratus mount point on the Sun as well
as open/r,w/close these files.

I would like to be able to determine to any degree the validity
of file transfers/creations/updates between the two systems
(from the Sun to theStratus). This is my primary concern for now.
If there are suitable suggestions for validating the RPC facilities on the
Stratus these would be welcome as well.

Please respond by email and I will summarize any responces.

Thanks in advance.
