Does anyone know of any available package, either PC/NFS or similar
product that is compatible with OS/2 or DOS 4.00. I am tired of
fighting the 640K barrier games.

Quoth ruck@ostrea.shell.com (John A. Ruck) (in <RUCK.90Feb6111434@ostrea.shell.com>): #Does anyone know of any available package, either PC/NFS or similar #product that is compatible with OS/2 or DOS 4.00. I am tired of #fighting the 640K barrier games. There are no OS/2 NFS implementations currently available as far as I know. However, one or more products should become available over the next year or so. For example, IBM's recent announcement of TCP/IP for OS/2 included a statement of direction that indicates that the second release will include NFS client support. No dates, but my guess is Q3'90. As for DOS 4.00, all of the commercially-available DOS NFS implementations (Sun's PC-NFS(R), FTP Software's InterDrive, and Beame & Whiteside's BW-NFS - I don't know if Siemens' package is shipping yet) work under DOS 4.00. How does that help with the 640K barrier? You can use QEMM or 386-to-the-Max to get some extra space on 386's, and QRAM should help on 286s, but it's still DOS underneath.
