I've been going through the nfs4 sources (4.0NFSSRC SMI) and wondering about the implementation of diskless clients. Here are to two "hooks" for the root filesystem and paging device (file) that I've found, ignoring the changes to support rarp. specfs/spec_vfsops.c getblockdev() nfs/nfs_vfsops.c getfsname() I wonder if, since I don't have the SunOS4.0 source, only the "portable NFS" source, whether there are any portions of the implementation for diskless or dataless clients which didn't make it into the seperate NFS sources. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has or is working on a non-Sun diskless or dataless client implementation based upon the NFS4.0 source, and of course, any clarification(s) or information from implementors at Sun or elsewhere who are familiar with the diskless/dataless design and implementation.
