[comp.protocols.nfs] rpc.lockd and SunOS 4.1

roger@gaudi.CSUFresno.EDU (Roger Tucker) (07/04/90)

I just upgraded our 3/460 server to SunOS 4.1. After the upgrade a number
of programs that had previously operated successfully, had problems with
directories mounted with the /SH flag. The PC apparently flagged the
directory on the Sun as busy, when it was the only machine that had
mounted the file system.

Going back to the version of rpc.lockd in the PC/NFS distribution solved
the immediate problems, but I am still concerned about any other future
incompatibilities. Has anyone used the C2 security features in 4.1 or
the 4.1 version of rpc.lockd with PC/NFS?
