Last week I posted aquestion about PC/NFS and control-c@ login time on a PC. If you hit a ctrl-c at the time of login, then the ownership of files inserted onto the fileserver is -2. **I got the following from a response from : agcsun!jerry@boulder.COLORADO.edu **(Jerry Stachowski) who says: ** **Steve, **It appears that you seeing normal PC-NFS behavior. If you look at the pcnfs **daemon source, you can find out, (with some digging), that if the user doesn't **run the net name command or they abort the command, they are logged in as **nobody. OK, thanks Jerry. But the problem still exists. So I call Sun, and get the following information: **I contacted Tech Support at Sun and was told that now they have a patch for **NET.EXE which will not be aborted by Ctrl-C. We should receive the modified **NET.EXE within a couple days. Since it concerns the security of our files in **PC-NFS system, we would like to see the NET.EXE file in all PC's been replaced. **But users should not be told about this problem. The moral of the story is: If you're using PC/NFS, and you're concerned about the *S* word, you'd better get in touch with Sun, and get the fix!!! -- Steven C.
