[comp.protocols.nfs] Questions: PCs as NFS Servers?

fritzson@PRC.Unisys.COM (Richard Fritzson) (07/23/90)

My apologies if this is widely known, but is anyone aware of software
which would allow us to dedicate a PC (actually a 386 with an AT bus)
as an NFS server, exporting its mass storage to SUN workstations.
According to the manual PC-NFS only supports client operations under DOS.

Although it sounds a bit odd, the PC is available, with a 300
Megabyte database on an optical disk. We don't have the mass storage
on the SUNs and the application doesn't require very high speed.

I would appreciate hearing about any software, commercial or public domain.

Thanks.
