[comp.protocols.nfs] PC-NFS and QuarterDeck Expanded Memory Manager

istewart@datlog.co.uk ( Ian Stewartson) (07/26/90)

I'm not sure if this is the right group to ask, so I apologise in advance.

We are currently running PC-NFS on a PS/2 Model 70 with the Quarterdeck
Expanded Memory Manager. When I configure the EMM using the Quarterdeck
supplied programs, it change the load location of some of the PC-NFS drivers,
loading them using the hiload program. The problem is that this then hangs
the system when the 'net subnet 255.0.0.0' command is issued at the start of
the NFS initialisation. If I remove the hiload of the PC-NFS drivers,
everything is OK.

Has anyone come across this problem. Is it an interaction problem between
PC-NFS and the EMM or are there some flags, load order etc for the drivers
etc to get round this problem.

We currently have PC-NFS 3.0 and Quarterdeck EMM 5.0 on a PS/2 Model 70 with
2M of memory and 60M of disk

Thanks in advance,

Ian Stewartson
