[comp.protocols.nfs] Win 3.0 and Cmnd Post as F.M. replacement.

kxb@gauss.math.ksu.edu (Karl Buck) (09/18/90)

I agonized many hours tring to get nfs and Win 3.0 to work reliably
and never could get the file manager to work well even with all
the advice that has been on the net (comp.windows.ms and
comp.protocols.nfs). I finally just chucked the F.M. in favor
of a shareware utility (yes, I registered) called Command Post.

I think C.P. is quicker and more powerful than the F.M. though it
does sacrifice some of Win 3.0's graphic functionality (ie you can't
copy/move files by dragging the little icon to it's destination.
Command Post also comes with a macro language.

Anyway I've ben running it for several days and am very pleased.
I'd like to hear frome anyone out there who has a similar F.M.
replacement with sucecess.

Command Post is available via anonymous ftp: cica.cica.indiana.edu
in /pub/pc/win3/util/cp-70e.zip.
