Our department has been running PC-NFS for some time now. We're hooked togetherby an ethernet LAN. Now, we are getting Windows in and I'm having trouble getting it to work. I can't seem to print to our network printers. Windows comes back and says "having trouble writing LPT1:" (or something like that). Having never had this problem before, I suspect something is wrong between Windows and NFS. I know NFS isn't "supported" by windows 3.0. However, I still don't know why print manager can't write to lpt1 and lpt1 to our server spool queue, like we have been doing. Has anyone out there installed windows on a PC and had similar experience? Did you get it fixed? Please keep your answers simple, as I'm not a technician. Regards. Tom Mathieu@ncrcis.stpaul.ncr.com

Try setting up Windows to print to lpt.os2 (it's way at the bottom of the list when configuring the priter port from the control panel). With respect to printing to network printers from Windows: Use "lpt1.os2" and "lpt2.os2". These work, whereas going straight to "lpt1" and "lpt2" don't. Eric Pilger Systems Programmer NASA Infrared Telescope Facility
