I really need a fool-proof means of letting users know when the server is going to go down. One means of accomplishing this would be to use Life Line mail in SMTP mode since the SMTP server is a TSR in users RAM and will flash a message across the screen when new mail arrives. Life Line mail appears to work fine in POP mode. However, when run in SMTP mode an error message appears on the users terminal when new mail arrives. The message is: tcreate:: No such file or directory SMTP server aborting (tcreate); errno=2 error 2001: Null pointer assignment I am aware that there are two versions of the Life Line SMTPSRV.EXE file. On faster machines the new mail message flashed too quickly across the screen, so the new version waits for the user to press the ALT key to continue. However, I get the above error message for both versions. Any ideas about what file or directory it is looking for? Thanks, Steve Bush sfb@asdiris
