[comp.protocols.nfs] PD NFS for the Mac?

martin@delphi.uchicago.edu (Martin P. Starr) (11/15/90)

Is there any such animal? A colleague mentioned that a group at
CITI at the University of Mich, Ann Arbor had been working on a product
that Apple had abandoned.

Any info. would be most appreciated.

You might want to follow the discussions going on in comp.protocols.appletalk
right now about NFS. There is no PD version of NFS currently available.
The story as I have it is as follows:

Apple asked CITI to develop a NFS
CITI got to the point where you needed carnal knowledge of the System
Apple took over the project
Apple has not released the code yet.

And that's pretty much how things sit in a nutshell.

There are two commercially available products, these are:

NFS/Share - InterCon Systems - info = info@intercon.com
MacPathWay NFS Client - Wollongong Group - info = info@twg.com (I believe)

Hope this helps.
