[comp.protocols.nfs] nfs, stellar, vms, win/tcp

jigang@alliant.backbone.uoknor.edu (Jigang Yang) (12/06/90)

I am using NFS on the Stellar GS2000 and NFS for WIN/TCP on the VMS to mount
NFS disk from VMS to Stellar. Something weird happened. When I create a file
or directory on the NFS disk under unix system, the uid of that user for example
is 127, then the owner of the file on the VMS side is [xxxxxx,000033]. Here
033 is octal number which equals to decimal number 27.

The system takes 127, strip off "1" then get 27, set the owner uic(VMS) to
27=033. But I have to set up an account for 127 as [xxxxxx,000177] on the VMS
side.

I hope someone will give me some hint.
