[comp.protocols.nfs] WANTED: NFS client software for the IBM-PC

mjs@behemoth.genetics.wisc.edu (Mike Schmelzer) (02/06/91)

[ I posted a similar request in c.s.ibm.pc yesterday. Forgive the duplication.]

We have a Sparcstation that we'd like to use as a fileserver for about 9 PC's.
Seeing as how NFS is an "open standard," I thought I should ask if there are
any 3rd party (or even public domain) versions of NFS client software for
IBM-PC's. We will not need any features beyond file sharing. (i.e. no need
for printing, or any of the other things NFS can do.)

We are quite satisfied with the Sun product, PC-NFS, but find the price per
unit a bit steep for the expansion we have in mind.

Thanks!
