[comp.protocols.nfs] PC/NFS and file links

jeffw@scam.Berkeley.EDU (Jeff Wallace) (02/10/91)

I recently installed PC/NFS and it seems that it doesn't recognize
the existence of symbolic links. I have a directory that consists
entirely of sym-links and when I look at it through PC/NFS I only
see the first and last files. The link and the file are both on
the same mounted filesystem and both are normally accessible by
the NFS user (me).

I made a few hard links and they worked fine, but I don't want hard
links. Is this a known problem? This copy of PC/NFS is version 3.0.
I understand that the current version is 3.1. Is this problem solved
in 3.1?

Also, what changes/fixes were made to 3.1? Is it worth upgrading to
the newer version?
