[comp.protocols.nfs] Sun PC-NFS 3.0.1 and MS Windows 3.0?

ted@arsocomvax.socom.mil (Ted Nolan) (02/21/91)

I think I remember seeing a few messages about running PCNFS under MS Windows
3.0. I think I also remember a few problems, for instance that you have
to do some bit fiddling with DOS drive headers to keep Windows from complaining
about all your potential, but currently unmounted, drives, and that to print
you have to pick the .os2 printers.

Have any people had more extensive experience yet? Do the two co-exist well
enough to actually use on a day to day basis? Is there enough memory left
on a 286 to do anything useful. Is a 386 almost required?

If you mail me your experiences and hints, I'll try to summarize to the net.
