Although I haven't had to use one in quite some time, rn supports two types of (sorry) 'kill' files, which it uses to filter the articles you see either in a particular newsgroup, or by name. If memory serves: - there is one global type for all newgroups (called KILL), and one local type for the individual group (called kill, I think, and kept in a directory specifically for that group) - the file lets you list subjects, or authors, etc. of articles to be suppressed. - rn can be made to create and update kill files automatically. I hope nn can as well -- that's what I use. I hate using them because I feel as if I'm gagging somebody, and you lose part of discussions, but sometimes this is the lesser evil. Your system documentation should have the details on kill files. Alastair Milne
