Hello everyone! Configuration: Sun 4/370 with SunOS4.0.3 as PC-NFS server, about 150-200 PCs with Sun PC-NFS 3.01 Problem: We have a lot of PC users and we intend to create separate user-IDs for everyone. Because of email and fileprotection, you know. Most of our PC-users don't use our UNIX machines at all (and don't know how to either). However, there's still one thing they must do on the PC-NFS server: set their password! That seems to be far too difficult to some people. Besides, I could give them a dummy login-shell (that would tell them "You are not authorized to use this machine. Please, contact XXX at YYY!"), if they didn't have to use UNIX... A solution would be a yppasswd -program for PC-NFS. It could communicate with the yppasswdd on the YP-master. Question: Does anyone know, if there is a yp-password changing program for PCs? Are there any security problems with programs like this? :-o Yours, Kari Vaaranen Tampella Papertech Oy Information Management -- Kari Vaaranen * (So long, and thanks for all the fish!)
