[comp.protocols.nfs] Where can I get PC-NFS?

explorer@iastate.edu (Graff Michael L) (03/27/91)

I assume PC-NFS is public domain. If so, where can I FTP source and/or
binaries to run on a 386 with a Western Digital ethernet card?

Thanks,

  You've most likely found out by now, that PC-NFS is not public domain.
  The description of NFS and RPC are publicly described in the
  Request For Documents (RFC's), but the code from Sun Microsystems
  is not public domain. Sun's PCNFS manual does reference support
  for the Western Digital card WD8003E.

    If you have access to RFC's here is a starting point for some of
    the spec { note: No reference for PCNFS descriptions }

              RFC1014 XDR: External Data Representation Standard
	      RFC1057 RPC: Remote Procedure Call Specification
	      RFC1094 NFS: Network File System Protocol Specification
