[comp.protocols.nfs] DRDOS 5.0 & PCNFS 3.0.1 incompatible ?

ag@crosfield.co.uk (Andrew R. Gray) (05/23/91)

Does anyone out there have any experience of using PC-NFS on top of
DRDOS-5.0 ? I have just been presented with a problem whereby any write to
a networked disk results in a write failure, even though the write appears
to be successful (only tested with small files less than 255 bytes).

All the leading PC-NFS initialisation worked O.k, including Yellow Pages,
RARP, and user authentification. File and authentification server is a Sun
4/280 running SunOS 4.1.

Not being particularly familiar with any flavour of DOS I am not able to
say whether there is anything fundamentally wrong with trying to do this or
not. I realise that the PC-NFS manual stipulates PC/MS-DOS 3.0 or above.

Any pointers gratefully received.
