Can anyone help me track down an annoying problem with NFS. I foolishly added an account for which the system provided an arbitrary GID of 19. The problem is that my proxy file on the server is set up for a GID of 200. I have tried to track down all occurances of the incorrect GID on the SCO but seem to have missed some. I can't change the proxy since the ID is system wide. The file system is correctly mounted by root during system boot but at the user login the host denies user access claiming the GID is wrong. After login I can create files on the local system and they have the correct GID, that is 200. What file have I failed to change? The host is a VAX cluster running UCX. Getting that to work is another long story. Suffice it to say that root can now mount and access files but to do that I needed 2 proxy entries.
