[comp.protocols.nfs] WINQVTNET & PC-NFSV3.5

Can WINQVTNET run with SUN PC-NFS V3.5?

I get an unable to open session error message when PC-NFS
	is installed.

	config.sys is :- device=c:\nfs\pcnfs.sys /f50 /s
				          nfs\sockdrv.sys
				          nfs\pktd35.sys

	packet driver is :-	wd8003e -w 0x79 3 0x300 0xd000

There may or may not be some problems with the above config.sys &/or the
packet driver startup BUT there are worse problems in using PC-NFS, a
packet driver and winqvtnet. I have been told, and there have been
postings around on this, that you fundamentally can NOT run the two
packages together. The problem is that packets get grabbed by only one
of the programs and are never seen by the other. The "register for what
packets you want" mechanism does not help in this case because both
programs want some of the same packet types. This at least is how I interpret
what I've read.

This is, of course, a huge disappointment because the combination of
PC-NFS and winqvtnet would be VERY attractive.

I'd like to see some confirmation or other comments on this.
