We currently have a 3C505 card on loan. It eventually has to be given back, so we are just going to buy a need card with some recent budgeting decisions. We run PC-NFS 3.5a and was wondering what is the *best* card to use with it. Geoff, are you reading this? |-) Ron ============================================================================== = 'She wouldn't make love, = = but she made good sandwich.' - Jethro Tull = =----------------------------------------------------------------------------= = Ron Pritchett - pritchet@calvin.cs.scarolina.edu = = or pritchet@hobbes.cs.scarolina.edu = ==============================================================================

Obligatory disclaimer: Sun resells 3Com cards. That said, there's really not a lot of difference between the various cards out there, so go for price. I personally cycle between a UB PCNIU (using NDIS), a non-name NE1000 clone (using packet driver) and a Xircom (when I'm out of slots). But then I've never been a pure speed freak (except driving Rt.128 :-) Geoff --Geoff Arnold, PC-NFS architect(geoff@East.Sun.COM or geoff.arnold@Sun.COM)-- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Sun Technology Enterprises : PC Networking group -- -- (officially from July 1, but effectively in place right now) --
