Hi gang, Here's the weirdest bug I've ever seen. Sever: 3/480 running 4.0.3 with NFS patches. client 3/80 running 4.0.3 with NFS patches My user complains that a file updates on another machine don't show up on his home machine (he works in lab and in office. Updates file in lab, walks to office 15 minutes later and gets old version ). I log into his home machine, file looks OK, but, ready for this: User still sees old file. If I su to user, then I see the old file. No other users (OK, I only tested a few of our 300 uids) have this problem. As user, /bin/ls shows old time stamp, and /bin/cat reveals updates are missing. Logout from su, /bin/ls and /bin/cat show new date, updates in place. Looks like cacheing problem that only affects ONE user? too strange. This one has me stumped. reboot of client clears things up.
