On some systems, incremental backups copy recently modified files to tape, then reset the reference date in the inode. This, in turn, causes the inode changed date to be modified, so rogue thinks the saved file has been tampered with. On such systems, either talk your administrator into excluding rogue files, or play in a file system or subdirectory that does not participate in the incremental saves. John P.
