Using HyperCard in the Curriculum
(A Hands-On Workshop)

Abstract:  This workshop is for educators and academic computing support staff
who have progressed beyond the introductory level and wish to do serious
design work.  The instructor will cover:

	* Scripting with HyperTalk
	* Using External Commands
	* HyperCard 2.0 New Features
	* Hypermedia Authoring Tools

Coverage of important fundamentals needed to use HyperCard effectively in
curriculum development.  Eight hours devoted to demonstrations and Macintosh
"hands-on" experience using a number of education-oriented models developed at
Dartmouth College especially for curricular support.  Assisted by facilitators
for individual work at computing stations.


LIMITED:  Fourteen (14) computers have been reserved for this course.

Workshop Leader:

Roger W. Brown, BA in Environmental Studies, University of California at Santa
Barbara, 1974.  MS in Engineering Science, Dartmouth College, 1977. 
Professional experience in Instructional Technology, Simulation Modeling,
Systems and Applications Programming, Data Processing Management.  Currently a
Courseware Developer at Dartmouth College, Kiewit Computation Center. 
Specializing in Macintosh applications.  Has lead HyperCard training seminars
throughout New England and elsewhere for the past 3 years.  Co-author of
Apple's HyperCard Courseware Development Seminar and Dartmouth XCMD's, winner
of an honorable mention in MacWorld Magazine's SuperStacks contest in 1989.

Directions to Merrimack College:  From Boston, take I-93 north to exiot for
Route 125 north.  Continue for 9 miles to campus at intersection of Routes 114
