NERComP Mini-Conference Series

A mini-conference is a more focused version of a particular topic for an
in-house presenta- tion to an audience selected by the host institution. The
topic is selected by the college or university because of some pressing need
(e.g. develop computer labs, provide new focus for user services, evaluate
software for instructional or administrative applications).

NERComP's full conferences may not provide enough detail and/or action
statements which fit the unique needs of a particular educational environment.
This mini-conference series fills that void between general conference
presentations and a very detailed consultative arrangement.

The following topic appears to be of most interest to the membership and has
been successfully conducted as a full conference. If this topic or other
issues or problem areas are of interest to you, a team of experts will design
a one-day session (lecture and/or workshop) tailored to your specific
requirements. Fee Negotiable.

Integrating Computing Across the Curriculum

Program Coordinators: Dr. Robert K. Wysocki and
Dr. Robert L. DeMichiell

The major thrust of this program is on implementation issues, problems, and
solutions regarding any aspect of computer resource acquisition and
allocation. As resources for higher education activity becomes more limited
and competitions for these resources emerge, existing and planned resources
for computing come under even more scrutiny.

The demand for hardware, software, and services have increased significantly
during the past decade. In some cases, faculty and staff are dependent on
computing as an integral part of their daily activity. Numerous
computer-related issues emerge (promoting faculty incentives, listing
institutional expectations, setting operational priorities between academic
and administrative applications, handling demand for computing, servicing
students, training faculty and staff, developing criteria and a system for
evaluating requirements, maintaining organizational control).

association advancing academic computing.
