[comp.mail.multi-media] Images/Audio & legalities

dwhite@DSYS.NCSL.NIST.GOV (Doug White) (05/14/91)

I doubt this is the proper place for this question, but maybe someone can
point me to somebody/somewhere ...
What legalities are in place governing the digitization of images for
replication or inclusion in demonstrations, and likewise, what legalities
exist covering digital sampling of audio (songs/speeches/etc) ?
This is _NOT_ usually my territory, but I want to make sure my behind is
behind something before we go scanning & sampling lots of stuff.
Please reply directly to me (dwhite@dsys.ncsl.nist.gov 129.6.50.1),
and thanks in advance.
