Hi Graeme,
how about the following ATM HCI bugs (real ones!!!)
1) HCI Texts on screen in english, but ATM modified to accept
welfare cards in California and then installed in
a redundant migrant worker ghetto (analphabetic mexicans).
2) Text says "Please wait" but doesn't hint how long, so you don't know
whether the ATM has crashed.
3) ATM extended by voice output. Asks (vocally) "Would you like the full
400 DeutschMarks?" User replies vocally "Yes", and waits and waits
and waits. ATM, getting no keyboard reply, assumes customer has left site
and aborts the transaction RETAINING THE CREDIT CARD !!!!
Just a sample of what the bank's application programmers get up to. B-)
