[comp.sys.super] cover stories

One person's opinion vis-a-vis the demise of E&S Computer Division is
that the "old guard" of E&S bureaucracy (you know, those guys who ran
a profitable business in Utah) didn't want the "risk" of
supercomputing.

Well, for what it isn't worth, I don't agree that this is the reason.
It is a symptom of the reasons ....

The reasons should be pretty clear to anyone who read (carefully, or
not, it doesn't matter) the many press descriptions of the machine's
design and implementation and the software strategy (sic).

p.s. To all the good folks who worked at E&S: hi, and no offense!

p.p.s. The only reason for this posting is that I'm really sick to
death of all the pathetic complaints that "American Business Won't
Take Risks." To me, this usually sounds like "Our Big Pipe O' Bucks
From D.C. Is Drying Up."
