In the ongoing Supercomputing Lecture Series Ontario Centre for Large Scale Computation presents: "Cray Research, Inc. - Present and Future Plans" by: Mr. Vito Bongiorno Manager, Benchmarking Group Cray Research Inc. Mendota Heights, MN time: 2:00 PM date: Thursday, July 5 place: McLennan Laboratories, room 134 60 St. George St. University of Toronto Mr. Bongiorno will discuss Cray's present product line - the Y-MP system including the newly announced air-cooled Y-MP/2E system, Cray's networking capabilities, software (including autotasking), and some performance results. He will also discuss their future plans involving (some of the following items will be dealt with in more general terms due to their proprietary nature): their future hardware plans, including special processors, the C-90 (Y-MP/16), the IOS Model E, disk technologies, the massively parallel research project, Supertek, and the C programming language. General directions in Cray Research software development will also be discussed. Experts will be present to answer involved technical questions.
