3rd Australian Supercomputer Conference

Conference - 3rd to 6th December 1990 --- Workshops 2/3 and 7/8 December 1990
University of Melbourne, Parkville, Victoria, Australia
Note to Conference Delegates
Conference and Workshop arrangements are as follows:-
* The conference wil be held in the Hercus/Laby Theatre complex of the
Physics Building at the northeast corner of the University Campus, close
to Swanston St and Tin Alley.
* The conference commences on Monday evening with a reception at 6 pm
in the same location - look for the marquee on the plaza level.
(The registration desk will be on the ground floor level.)
* You may register for the conference at the reception on Monday or on
Tuesday morning from 8.30 am.
* The conference is to be formally opened at 9 am on Tuesday.
* The Supercomputer Workshop will be held on Level 3 in the Thomas Cherry
Building (across Swanston St on the pedestrian bridge) on the preceding
Sunday and Monday, commencing at 9 am.
* The workshop has been over-subscribed. A second workshop has been
scheduled for Friday and Saturday, 7 and 8 December. There are still
some vacancies available.
* On the social front, in addition to the reception on Monday evening,
there will be a spit roast in the quadrangle at Queen's College on
Tuesday night, and the formal conference dinner will be held in the
Eakins Hall, Queens College on Wednesday night at 7.30.
* Supercomputer User Group meetings will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday
afternoons immediately at the conclusion of formal sessions at 5 pm.
More details will be displayed at the registration desk.
* The conference proper concludes at 4pm Thursday.
* The second workshop to be held on Friday and Saturday will either be
held in the University (location to be advised), or at Leading Edge,
depending on the numbers enroling.
* The telephone number at the conference registration desk, where
messages may be left during the conference is (03) 344 7539 (international
+61 3 344 3539). The most convenient Fax is in Information Technology
Services, Thomas Cherry Building - (03) 347 4803. Public Fax service
is available in the Post Office, in the next-door building.
* The conference line-up is excellent - the final program will be in
your satchels when you register. Displays will be mounted by the
following sponsor organisations - Comperex, Convex, Cray, IBM,
Leading Edge, and Silicon Graphics.
