[gnu.gcc.bug] GCC Incorrectly Compiles GAWK

When I compile GAWK with GCC 1.28 on a Sun 3/110 running SunOS 4.0,
running the resulting GAWK with the enclosed script dumps core.  A
segmentation violation, to be exact.  A GAWK compiled by Sun's CC
works OK.  The only flag passed to GCC and CC was "-g".  I used the
Makefile enclosed in the GAWK distribution.

In a related problem, GCC also does not put out correct debugging
information for dbx.  When I attempted to debug GAWK, I got the
following message:
