Installing gcc-1.31 on our sun system (sun3, 4.0) goes wrong: (...) make CC=stage1/gcc CFLAGS="-g -O -Bstage1/" (...) stage1/gcc -g -O -Bstage1/ -sun3 -c fold-const.c stage1/gcc -g -O -Bstage1/ -sun3 -c rtl.c stage1/gcc -g -O -Bstage1/ -c genflags.c stage1/gcc -g -O -Bstage1/ -o genflags genflags.o rtl.o obstack.o ./genflags md > tmp-insn-flags.h sh: 6488 Memory fault - core dumped *** Error code 139 make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `insn-flags.h' dbx genflags doesn't work: "rtld doesn't place the break point right." I followed the guidelines in INSTALL: 3. config.gcc sun3 was given. 4. bison installed (12-Oct-88). 5. FLOAT_OPTION was turned off. 6. make gave no problems. 7. make stage1 gave no problems. I am working for the first time with gnu.
