1d5/1d5 differs from 2d5 in that each instance of 1d5 requires a separate
"to hit" success before the damage can be done. It is particularly significant
for monsters which also have some special attack such as rusting armor,
confusion, or various debilitations, because it indicates multiple chances
to inflict these added indignities.
