I guess the women are disgusted with the overwhelming male source of messages in net.women, so where do those of us of the male persuasion post re stuff in net.women? ?net.women.men? The recurrent subject of "How do I pick up women without being a total goon?" is current again on net.not.women. Doesn't this actually belong on net.single.men_who_are_shy? It seems like a lot of the male posters on the net haven't figured out that a lot of women actually resent being constantly offered sexual relationships with total strangers. And now that casual sex isn't in vogue, a male had better be awfully attractive if he expects to be succesful at picking up total strangers. So where does that leave your average plain vanilla horny male? Confused. Part of the carnage of the sexual revolution is the demise of courting protocols. It seems a lot of men out there don't realize that they have to go through the bother of being introduced to people in a social situation. Mr. Shy Beach Pick-up wants to know how he should meet women. He should engage in social activities, hobbies, sports, clubs, poltical organizations, church groups etc. He should do this in good faith, and out of an interest in the particular activity, not to pick up women. In this context, he will meet people of both sexes, some of whom he can develop friendships with based on common interests. These friends will, in turn, become informed about his relationship status (single and looking) and will eventually introduce him to women who are also single and looking. Obviously, this will take a lot of time and patience, but the era of instant sexual gratification seems to be over.
