I have gdb 3.2 running on a HP 9000/320 under HP-UX 6.5. I can't recall if you can use it on HP a.outs (I think so) but it does run when you use gas and gld. Caveat when compiling gas for HP-UX: be sure to use the a.out.h from binutils/hp-include or it won't work.
