[gnu.gcc.bug] 1.36.93 questions

vjg@WUCS1.WUSTL.EDU (Victor J. Griswold) (01/24/90)

Mr. Stallman,
A couple of questions about gcc 1.36.93, retrieved from trix on 01/23.
First, I looked through the Changelog for reference to the 'x == y ?:'
operator fix, and could not immediately find it, though I have heard rumor
that it is fixed (relating to problems with X11R4 installation). Is the
fix present?
My next question relates to the sparc. Is there a compilation option
which results in sun-cc-like parameter passing? We have been bitten by
the gcc/sun-cc incompatibility when trying to link with the sun libraries.
If such an option is not present in 1.36.93, can we hope to see it in
1.37? We can try to work around the problem, if no compiler option is
in the near future, but would prefer to wait a bit if a "clean" solution
will soon be available.
Lastly, do you foresee any major 68010/68020/sparc changes from 1.36.93
to 1.37 (yes, we have sun2s, sun3s, and sun4s, and are trying to find a
single stable platform on which to build X11R4)?
Thank you for your time, and a very promising compiler.

    	    	    			    Sincerely,
    	    	    			    Victor Jon Griswold
