References: When you have drunk a potion of Hallucination, whenever you make a move that the program cannot accept, it automatically turns objects (for the next turn) into what they really are. Thus, if you move a Capital Letter move towards a wall, you can tell what an item is without actually walking onto it, and without wasting a turn. Neat huh? - Steven (Captain Hyperspace) Maurer

I tried banging against a wall when hallucinated, and it does indeed show you the real label for one round. However, this doesn't appear to be the case when you're in a corridor.
