[unix-pc.bugs] Bugs: ph and windows

michael@stb.UUCP (Michael) (12/07/88)

I've noticed two bugs lately in my system. First, the phone manager
will sometimes put the telephone on data line two (and stop the
uugetty on that line) without my telling it, or it even knowing
(the highlight will still be on line one, but someone dialing into
line one will say "ring" at the top and not ring the phone).

Secondly, if I ctrl-S to stop output, and a new window appears,
the ctrl-S is lost and output resumes (thanks to the "FIX" of
flushing type-ahead), but the blocked output is LOST, i.e.,
it not only flushes the input queue, it flushes the output queue
(not just restarting). This is REALLY a bug.

Anyone have patches/mods/workarounds for either? One workaround for
#1 is to simply toggle the phone from the phone manager once a day--
toggle it twice and it will be on line one correctly. But its still
manual, and annoying.
